Millennium Carillon Tower and Plaza The Dub and B.J. Riter Millennium Carillon Tower and Plaza is the largest carillon tower in Texas and the 15th largest in America. The carillon tower is 16 feet wide on each side at the base and stands 80 feet from the ground to the main cornice above the clock with a cap section standing 8 feet above that. The tower houses 57 clear-tone bronze bells cast at a foundry in the Netherlands and the carillon is anchored by one low-note bell weighing more than 2,000 pounds |

Texas State Railroad & Park (Palestine) The goal of the Texas State Railroad State Park is to offer its visitors a well-rounded educational experience. Along with the historic train excursions, the TSRR provides a wide variety of educational and entertainment programs. Many special event trains runs each year such as "Murder Mystery" and "North Pole Express". Trains are running from both Palestine and Rusk stations. Railroad store at each depot offering gifts and keepsakes as well as food service including sandwiches and ice cream. Camping and picnicing facilities are also available at each station. Tyler Area Christian Home Educators - TACHE. The Tyler Area Christian Home Educators (TACHE) association coordinates activities of interest to its membership in Tyler, Texas. We have skating, bowling, soccer, baseball, Moms' Night Out (dinner and a speaker), a member-only web site with forums and calendar, history co-op, field trips, dances, banquets, Recognition Night, Graduation, Parent R&R Nights, annual book sale and other activities. Classes (i.e. sophomores, seniors) often have their own service and fellowship projects. Our activities involve parents and children learning and playing together. |
